LPG Cylinder Biometric Aadhaar Authentication Simplified
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has made the Aadhaar authentication process for LPG consumers much easier. Customers can now complete their biometric Aadhaar authentication, or e-KYC, conveniently from home using their smartphones — at no cost. This new feature ensures a faster, more secure, and hassle-free way to update LPG connection details online.
Earlier, consumers were required to visit their LPG distribution centers or agencies to complete the e-KYC process. However, with the latest update from the Ministry, the entire procedure can now be done online by following a few simple steps on a mobile phone, allowing instant authentication from the comfort of one’s home.
How to Complete Biometric Aadhaar Authentication for LPG
To complete your LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication (e-KYC), follow these simple steps:
- Scan the official QR code or visit https://www.pmuy.gov.in/e-kyc.html.
- Download the mobile app of your respective oil marketing company — IndianOil One, HP Pay, or BharatGas.
- Next, install the ‘Aadhaar FaceRD’ app.
- Open your company’s app and follow the on-screen instructions to scan your face using the Aadhaar FaceRD app.
- Once your facial scan is verified, your biometric authentication or e-KYC will be completed successfully.
Important Notice for Ujjwala Yojana Beneficiaries
The government has made biometric authentication or e-KYC mandatory for all Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries who receive the ₹300 annual LPG subsidy. Beneficiaries who fail to complete this process will not be eligible for the subsidy. Those who have not yet completed e-KYC are advised to do so promptly to continue receiving their subsidy benefits.
