Omar Abdullah: Employee Terminations Began Under PDP-BJP Govt, Mehbooba Mufti Signed First Dismissal Orders
Employee Terminations Began Under PDP-BJP Regime: CM Omar Abdullah
Srinagar: Chief Minister and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah stated on Sunday that the practice of dismissing government employees originated during the PDP-BJP coalition government, not after 2019. He said that former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was the first to approve such termination orders during her tenure.
According to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Abdullah accused the PDP of causing widespread damage during its rule, asserting that the National Conference is now focused on correcting those mistakes.
He further mentioned that institutions like IIT and IIM were set up in Jammu under the PDP-BJP government, adding that while Jammu’s AIIMS is already functional, the one in Kashmir will require at least two more years to be completed.
The Chief Minister said that his priority is to ensure the people of Budgam choose a suitable representative for the next four years. He emphasized that one seat will not determine the fate of his government, but urged voters to elect someone capable of cooperating with the administration and effectively serving the district.
He further stated that his party is contesting the elections with the intent to win and advised his colleagues not to take victory for granted before the polls conclude, remarking, “No election is won before the voting ends — we must continue to work hard.” —(KNO)
