Big Update Regarding Winter Vacation 2025 for Kashmir Schools
Srinagar, Nov 13: The School Education Department is planning to declare winter vacations for schools in the Kashmir division’s winter zone in a phased manner, beginning in the first week of December.
According to sources quoted by the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Education Minister Sakina Itoo, during a recent review meeting, indicated that winter vacations for primary classes are expected to start in the first week of December.
Officials further added that for higher classes, up to the 12th standard, the winter break is likely to begin from the second week of December.
“The minister has selected the tentative dates keeping in view the ongoing weather conditions. The date of winter vacations may be changed and that too depends on the weather situation,” the official said.
It also said that since the new academic session has already begun, the department is trying to cover at least 10 percent of syllabi before the commencement of winter vacations.
Pertinently, the temperature in Kashmir region has plummeted drastically while the summer capital Srinagar on Wednesday recorded its coldest night of the season at minus 2.1 degrees Celsius—(KNO)
