E-KYC has been made compulsory for all ration card holders in Faridabad, with the deadline set for 5 August 2025.
This step has been taken by the government to curb fraud, as several individuals were found to be availing ration benefits by illegally obtaining BPL cards. To simplify the process, the E-KYC can be completed from home using the Mera e-KYC app. The Food and Supplies Department has instructed depot holders to inform and educate people about this requirement.
A verification drive is being launched to scrutinize those receiving ration from government depots. Authorities have discovered that many people acquired BPL cards through fraudulent means to access various government welfare schemes. It was also noted that a significant number of these beneficiaries neither collect their ration regularly nor have applied for the ₹500 domestic gas cylinder benefit.
Is the card holder taking ration anywhere else?
There are many people who have got BPL cards made in other states as well. They are getting ration from there as well. To identify such people, now the government has made it mandatory for every card holder to get e-KYC done. Its last date is August 5, 2025. This will reveal whether the card holder is taking ration anywhere else. Whether he even lives in the district or not.
Do E-KYC/KYC from home
