FASTag Annual Pass Launching on 15 August 2025: Starting this Independence Day, 15 August 2025, a new FASTag annual pass facility will be available. Priced at ₹3,000, the pass will remain valid for either one year or 200 toll crossings—whichever limit is reached first. This means each trip will cost an average of just ₹15. Here’s where the FASTag annual pass can be used and the process to obtain it.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will issue this annual FASTag pass, which will be valid across all NHAI-managed national highways and expressways. For those who frequently travel on these routes, the pass can lead to significant savings while also making toll payments more convenient.

For which vehicles is FASTag Annual Pass valid?

FASTag Annual Pass is for those private vehicles which frequently travel on National Highways and Expressways and want to save on toll tax. This pass will be applicable only for non-commercial vehicles. This facility is not currently available for commercial vehicles.

The good thing is that if you already have FASTag, then you will not have to buy a new FASTag to get an annual pass. The annual pass will be activated on your existing FASTag. Yes, it is necessary to fulfill the eligibility criteria for this. For example, the FASTag should be properly installed on the windshield of the vehicle, should be linked to the valid registration number of the vehicle and should not be blacklisted.

How to activate FASTag Annual Pass

Follow these easy steps to activate FASTag Annual Pass:

• Go to Rajmargyatra Mobile App or NHAI’s official website.
• Login with your FASTag login details like registered mobile number, vehicle number etc.
• The system will automatically verify your vehicle and FASTag eligibility.
• Make a digital payment of Rs 3,000 through UPI, net banking, card.
• Your FASTag Annual Pass will be activated within 2 hours of payment and verification.
• You will also get its confirmation through SMS or email.
• Keep in mind that FASTag Annual Pass is not transferable. It will be valid only for the vehicle on which FASTag is registered.

Where FASTag Annual Pass will not work

FASTag Annual Pass will not be valid on any state highway, expressway under states and roads managed by local authorities. Toll on these roads will have to be paid through the normal FASTag system only

What will happen after the validity expires

• After the limit of 200 trips of the annual pass is exhausted or after completion of 1 year, your annual pass will be converted into a normal FASTag.
• If you want to continue the benefit of the annual pass, then you will have to renew it again through the website or app.
