JKBOSE Class 10 Result Delay Leaves 95,000 Students in Uncertainty
Srinagar, Jan 10: The declaration of results for the 10th and 12th standard examinations conducted last year by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has been delayed due to the non-appointment of the board’s chairman.
Speaking to Excelsior, JKBOSE Secretary Ghulam Hassan Sheikh said that the Class 10 results have been ready for the past week, while the Class 12 results are in their final stages and are expected to be completed within a few days.
He explained that the board is awaiting the appointment of a chairman, as the results cannot be officially announced without one. Sheikh added that the JKBOSE result committee consists of six members and is chaired by the chairman, whose presence is essential for approving and declaring the examination results.

“As soon as the chairman is appointed, the result of the 10th class will be declared,” he informed.
As per officials, around 95,000 students appeared last year in the Class 10 annual exams across 994 examination centres in Kashmir and winter zone of Jammu region.
Of the total candidates, 68,804 are from the 10 districts of Kashmir Division, while 25,224 belong to the winter zone areas of Jammu Division. In addition, 660 students from Kargil and 95 from Leh wrote the exams.
Students are eagerly waiting for their results and many parents said it is mentally distressing for both the students and parents.
“It’s very stressful to wait without any clarity. For last week we are being told that the result is ready but has not been declared so far,” said a Class 10 student from Srinagar.
