LPG consumers will not be able to book ‘gas cylinder’ online; know the reason

MP News Update: Gas agencies are actively sending reminders to customers via mobile messages, urging them to complete their e-KYC process.

Completing e-KYC has now been made compulsory for all domestic LPG cylinder users. However, many consumers are still ignoring these instructions. As a result, petroleum companies are considering strict measures. Those who fail to complete e-KYC may face difficulties in receiving their gas cylinders and might be restricted from booking them online.

70 thousand consumers have not done e-KYC

The process of e-KYC has been going on for about a year. Gas agencies are constantly sending messages on mobile phones to customers to get e-KYC done. Even after this, consumers are not taking interest in it. Still 47 percent of the consumers in the district have not done e-KYC of their connection. There are about 37 gas agencies in the district. Three lakh 69 thousand consumers are connected to these agencies. Out of this, only one lakh 90 thousand have done KYC. There are still one lakh 70 thousand consumers left.

To get KYC done, consumers have to go to the agency of the gas company from which they have taken the cylinder, with their Aadhaar, gas diary and mobile. There, e-KYC will be done through biometrics. Aadhaar and gas consumer number are necessary. Gas agency operator Amit Agarwal said that e-KYC is being done through finger print scanner and face ID of the customers. For e-

KYC, Aadhaar card and gas consumer number are required. It is necessary to have the name of the consumers in whose name the connection is. Apart from this, if consumers want, they can also get e-KYC done online. For this, they will have to download a mobile app.

It is necessary for every LPG customer to do e-KYC. Its main purpose is to identify the right consumers and to ensure that they get cylinders on time. If someone has changed the address, they can change it. For this, we have made it mandatory for all dealers. They should get e-KYC done from the customers as soon as possible.
