Schools to Remain Shut on Oct 6, 7 Amid Heavy Rain Alert: DSEJ

SRINAGAR: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has announced that all government and private schools across the Jammu Division will remain closed for two days due to a heavy rainfall alert.

According to an order issued by Naseem Javaid Chowdhary (JKAS), Director School Education Jammu, the decision has been taken in response to the weather advisory from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas of the division.

“To ensure the safety and security of students and staff, all Government and Private Schools across Jammu Division shall remain closed on 06-10-2025 (Monday) and 07-10-2025 (Tuesday),” the order reads.

Further updates will be communicated as per the weather situation.
